CAVEAT Signs With CYCLONE RECORDS

September 15, 2006

Cyclone Records has announced the signing of Calgary metal band CAVEAT.

CAVEAT was founded by Greg Musgrave (ex-TOKE, STONEWATER, now also in BLACKSKY and EXIT STRATEGY) on guitar and vocals, and bassist/vocalist Terry Baldwin (ex-CRYPTOMNESIA, VERBAL DECEPTION),with drummer Casey Rogers (ex-STONEWATER, SELF CONTROL, now also in BLACKSKY and EXIT STRATEGY) and guitarist Joe Sikorski (ex-THORAZINE, now also in BLACKSKY and EXIT STRATEGY). In 2005, the newly cemented lineup produced a professional, self-titled five-song EP, featuring 26 minutes of accessible, progressive metal that combines both aggressive death/black metal vocals and three-part harmonies with funk-influenced bass lines and punishing thrash-metal guitar riffs. Besides showcasing three new tracks, the EP also includes re-recorded versions of "Immortalized" and "State of Grace" from CAVEAT's 2004 debut album "The Biggest Secret".

Commented the band: "2005 was a great year for CAVEAT getting the word and music out to the masses and really solidifying a solid fan base more than ever. Our partnership with Scarab Productions was a great experience for us and helped us grow as a band considerably. Due to certain circumstances though, we parted ways with Scarab Productions in early 2006. We are extremely thankful for our time with Scarab, but now look towards a bright future in our new partnership with Brad Trew and Cyclone Records.

"In the last couple of years we have watched Cyclone Records grow into one of the most reputable forces in Canadian music, as well as being a great supporter of the local metal scene in general releasing one of most notable metal releases of 2006, being 'The Greatest Underground Show On Earth - A Calgary Metal Collection 2006'. CAVEAT's single, 'The One' appeared as the first track on the compilation, getting the word out from coast to coast across Canada, which we couldn't help but notice and appreciate. When it came time to approach a label, Cyclone Records was the obvious choice for us and from our first meeting together the vibe between Brad Trew and CAVEAT was there instantly and the mutual feeling of a prosperous future together was felt from both parties. All I can say for 2007 is expect the unexpected!"
